Holistic Health, by its very definition, is an attitude toward health which includes Diet, Nutrition, Exercise and Lifestyle. I believe that our sense of well being is a reflection of our attitude towards ourselves, others and the world around us.

Hi Judith, You are on a liquid mono diet which means you are only consuming liquids, it would make sense that your eliminations are runny loose and mucusy. Solid matter may come loose only after 2 to 4 weeks of cleansing once it has been rehydrated with the lemonade. You can use enzmes to help break up old waste more quickly and also use a proper dosage of laxative to induce 3 to 4 BM's per day. Tom

Hi Tom,
You may get this question/comment often but I need to ask it again. I am on day 5 of the cleanse and have followed everything to the letter according to your book. However, I am not having the bowel activity I expected. Nothing seems to come out when I use either the laxatives or the saltwater bath except liquid. Constipation has been a big issue for me for most of my adult life. Is this within the "normal" range? Is there anything else I can do? Am I still getting any cleansing benefit?.... thanks so much for your reply. Judith

Hi Joann, It is not unusual to feel a little sluggish or headachy at first. Using a good laxative and drinking at least 10 glasses a day makes a big difference in how you feel. The clay is not generally used on the cleanse, if you were poisoned by some chemical I would suggest it but otherwise you use it with a high fiber product and done after you do the MC.
I am on day four of the cleanse after reading your book. I CANNOT believe that you have this web site and answer questions! So personable, and I really appreciate it. I have had very little bowel movement except for the first day. I purchased the clay today and hope for better results. I seem to have a hard time focusing, and energy is off and on. I thank you for writing the book so thoroughly, because I can understand all the reasons to do this, and all I need to be on it.
Sincerely,
Joann B

I responded directly to April first to figure out what was happening and suggested she see a chiropractor, an atlas adjustment would also be very effective. Here is her reply to my suggestion.

Hello Tom
Thank you so much for the follow up. Whitney is doing much better. She did seem to have a rib out of place… you were right! Lol… imagine that [winking]. She had an adjustment, the chiropractor seemed to know his stuff and did a good job. What happened was though, after the adjustment, suddenly a bone popped out and was sticking out on the left side of her chest [near the breast]. So, he fixed the side that was bothering her and then the other side seemed to get weird. The other thing is that there wasn’t a bone sticking out originally… so, I’m not sure what happened there. She is doing much better, and did have immediate relief though. She says she is going to go back to the doctor today or tomorrow and see what he thinks about the bone being out… we’ll see.
Thanks again for your help Tom. I really appreciate it and so does Whitney! J
Best regards,
April B

Hi Rocio, The need for protein is greatly exaggerated. The average body ius about 17 to 19% protein and the body recycles over 80% and the body can create it's own protein. I have seen this as a close friend gained 8 lbs. of muscle while on the cleanse for 28 days. I go to the gym and gain strength and muscle while on the cleanse and 1 woman did 372 days in a row while running 7 miles a day! Tom

Hi Lisa, Try a strict vegetarian diet without any nightshades and drinking plenty of water. Also start using a high fiber product with bentonite clay once a day for 3 days, then twice a day for 4 days, then 3 times a day for a week. If you get constipated use a laxative for a day or 2 then go back on the MC. Tom

Hi Lawren, A liver /gall bladder flush works great after a cleanse but wait for about a week after you finish to do this. It depends on what type of supplements they are. Some people may react strongly to the cleanse and might find some supplements very helpful for 4 or 5 days and then stop them and do the MC as recommended. Tom

Hello Tom,
My 18 year old daughter is on day 9 of the Master Cleanser right now and woke up this morning with super bad chest pains. She has done the cleanse about 3 times before and I've done it around 6 or 7 times over the years, and I've never seen this happen. The one thing that she did different was that she gave blood yesterday. Is it a bad thing to give blood while fasting? Can this cause some sort of reaction? If so, do you have any advise on how to handle it? ...

Thank you,
April :-)
